The new Diploma

Work with schools and colleges to produce young people with the skills to start right away

We all develop our skills as we gain experience, but organisations need school-leavers to hit the ground running when they enter employment.

By working with schools and colleges, your organisation can help produce young people who are ready to work.

Shape the future of your organisation by:

  • offering work experience placements to students and work-shadowing for teachers
  • providing resources, equipment and use of premises
  • giving talks and lectures with real business context to enrich young people’s learning
  • setting business problems for students to solve on their projects.

Make the most of the Diploma

The Diploma is a new qualification for students aged 14-19. It was developed with the help of over 5000 employers and puts your organisation in control of what young people learn.

Through the Diploma, students can gain the skills that your organisation needs from its employees, including how to solve problems, communicate and work independently or as part of a team.

How can your organisation support the Diploma?

The Diploma will help give you better-prepared and more knowledgeable young employees. But as it’s about real work, it’s essential that employers and organisations get involved.

Vodafone, Rolls-Royce, Cisco, BT and other key employers already support the Diploma. To join them, visit DCSF’s Employers section or read their short, six-page Diploma guide.
